Voa Brasil aims to facilitate travel around the country, offering cheaper air tickets on less busy flights. The idea is to make the dream of traveling more accessible to everyone.

In the program scheme, the tariffs are fixed at R$200. For a return trip, the total cost would be R$400 per person, which can also be paid in installments up to 12 times, with additional interest.

The promotions are valid for two specific times of the year: from March to June and from August to November, times when national tourism is generally quieter.

It is important to note that the program does not cover boarding fees, but the proposed solution is cashback.

In other words, part of this amount can be returned to be used at the airport or on transport there. After all, traveling cheaper is always a good idea!

When does the program start?

When Voa Brasil will begin its operations is still unknown.

Minister Márcio França shared on the radio program A Voz do Brasil that the forecast is for this to occur in 2023, more specifically from August.

Currently, the Federal Government is busy preparing the details to implement a pilot project. This includes the development of an application that will centralize information and facilitate ticket sales.

To ensure access to more affordable tickets, interested parties will need to download the app and register your CPF

The application will be the hub for all stages of the process, from searching for a destination to payment, providing an integrated experience for users.

Who can participate in Voa Brasil?

Voa Brasil is aimed at INSS retirees and pensioners, workers and public employees (municipal, state and federal) with salary of up to R$6,800, and students benefiting from the Student Financing Fund (Fies).

In the first stage of the program, the focus is to serve retirees and pensioners who receive up to two minimum wages. Only after this initial period will other target audiences have access to the program.

Furthermore, it is important that interested parties have not taken any other domestic flights in the last 12 months.

Each person can purchase up to two R$200 tickets per year, allowing for a return journey.

Furthermore, it is also possible to take a companion on each route for the same price, regardless of whether they are part of the target audience.

This way, each participant can enjoy up to four annual tickets – two for themselves and two more for their companion.

The importance of the Voa Brasil Program

Voa Brasil's main mission is to solve a recurring problem in domestic air travel: empty seats during low season periods, such as March to June and August to November.

Minister Márcio França highlights that, in these months, flight occupancy is 21% lower.

The government believes that filling these unused seats can contribute to reducing ticket prices, benefiting travelers.

The opposite, according to the minister, is not a concern: there is no risk of an increase in prices to compensate for cheaper tickets, nor of the government subsidizing these fares.

Voa Brasil aims to be a mediator in this matter, helping airlines to fill these empty spaces and providing Brazilians with the opportunity to travel without spending a lot.

Although the participation of airlines in the program has not yet been officially confirmed, the main ones, such as Azul, Latam and Gol, have already publicly expressed their support for the initiative.
