Guide to having two WhatsApp accounts on the same cell phone

When it comes to using two WhatsApps on an Android phone, you have a few options at your disposal:
- Have a cell phone with Dual SIM support;
- Using a chip not registered with WhatsApp on another device;
Now as for app duplication, you can resolve this in two ways:
- Download the WhatsApp Business (ideal for commercial use);
- Install the application called Parallel Space to replicate the traditional WhatsApp application (or Business).
Here is the step-by-step guide for each of these options:
1. With WhatsApp Business
To create an account on WhatsApp Business, you can follow these simple steps:
- Download the app from the Play Store;
- Open the app and confirm your second number (it can be from a Dual Chip cell phone or another smartphone);
- Enter your brand name and select your store category, then click Next.
- Go to More options (three dots icon) > Settings to add extra information about your business, such as opening hours and address;
- Ready! Now you have your duplicate WhatsApp.
If you are using a landline, instead of choosing “Send SMS”, click “Call me”.
You will receive an automated call with a six-digit code. Just enter this code on your cell phone to confirm.
2. With Parallel Space
To use two WhatsApps on the same phone with Parallel Space, follow these simple steps:
- Download the app from the Play Store;
- Open Parallel Space and click Continue, then Start;
- Choose WhatsApp as the application you want to duplicate;
- Configure the second phone number (country, number and confirmation via SMS or call);
- Done! Now you can use two WhatsApps on the same cell phone.
If you don't want to open Parallel Space every time you need to access your second account, you can create a shortcut.
Just hold down the new WhatsApp icon (WhatsApp+) and drag it to your main screen.
How to set up two WhatsApp accounts on the same Samsung phone
Do you want to install two WhatsApp accounts on the same Samsung cell phone? If your cell phone is from the Galaxy J, Galaxy A, Galaxy S or Galaxy Note line, you have a native option to do this, without needing Parallel Space.
- Here's how:
- Go to Settings on your cell phone;
- Search for Advanced Features and click on Dual Messenger;
- Select WhatsApp, click Install and Confirm;
- Ready! Now just configure your second number as usual.
On the main screen, the second WhatsApp icon will have an orange detail, so you can differentiate it from the first.
How to set up two WhatsApp accounts on the same iPhone phone
If you want to have two WhatsApps on the same iPhone, there are three ways to do this: using an eSIM, putting a chip not registered with WhatsApp in another cell phone or using a landline.
eSIM is a virtual chip available only on iPhones XR, XS and XS Max. In Brazil, currently, the only operator that offers eSIM plans is Claro.
If you opt for this alternative, you will need to contact your operator to activate it.
As for duplicating WhatsApp, the only option available is to download the Business version, as Parallel Space is not compatible with the iPhone.
To install WhatsApp Business, follow the same steps mentioned above, but search for it in the App Store instead of the Play Store.
