Let's talk about something that makes all the difference to people's lives: social benefits.

You know that little extra help that comes from both the government and companies? That's right, we're talking about it! This task force is essential to give people here in Brazil a helping hand with their quality of life.

This help isn't just for those who are sweating it out at work. It also goes to families who are having financial problems or are facing social challenges for whatever reason.

The great thing about social benefits is that they not only give people some relief in their daily lives until they get back on their feet, but they also help to keep the country's economy going.

How important are these benefits?

Have you ever thought about how important social benefits are? Well, for both companies and employees, they are a real game changer.

Just imagine: everyone has their own needs and objectives, and social benefits come to give them a little boost, improving everyone's life.

Now think about people who are in a more complicated situation, living on a tight budget. For them, social benefits are quite a relief.

It's not just a question of not having to deal with everyday needs, but there's also a super important detail: access to food.

After all, nobody deserves to have an empty stomach, right? So that's what social benefits do: they help ensure that everyone has the basics to live with dignity.

13th salary

First, let's talk about the famous 13th salary. You know that salary that arrives at the end of the year? Well, every worker with a formal contract is entitled to it.

The rule is simple: the amount received is proportional to the months worked in the year.

If you've worked for the company all year, your 13th will be the same as your monthly salary. Nice, right?

FGTS

Now, let's move on to the FGTS, or Severance Indemnity Fund. It's like a piggy bank that the company fills every month, depositing 8% of your gross salary.

And the best part? If you are dismissed without cause, you can withdraw this money. But if the dismissal is for another reason, there are some specific rules for withdrawing the money.

PIS

We also have the PIS, or Social Integration Program. This is an old one, created back in 1970.

It works like this: as soon as you start your first job, the company registers you with the PIS.

With this registration, every year you may be entitled to a salary allowance.

Elderly card

You know that stage of life when you're over 60 and want to travel more?

Well, the Senior Citizen's Card is a real pass for those who fall into this category and have an income of no more than two minimum wages.

With this magic card, you can take interstate buses for free or, at the very least, pay only half the price. Isn't that something?

Bolsa Família

And speaking of giving a helping hand, the Bolsa Família he's like that friend who shows up when you need him.

Created by the Brazilian government, this program is all about giving a boost to families who are struggling to get out of poverty and face social inequality head on.

The idea is simple: to offer financial help to these families so that they can improve their lives and leave vulnerability behind. Of course, it makes all the difference!

In addition to these most famous benefits, there are several others such as Youth ID, Smiling Brazil, School Supplies Card etc
