The federal government has announced a exceptional aid from R$ 2.640 destined for artisanal fishermen who are registered with the "seguro-defeso" and are facing an emergency situation due to the drought in the region. municipalities in the Northern Region.
Even if the fisherman is in receipt of other aid or social security benefits, he will be entitled to this financial assistance, which will be paid in a single installment.
This is a measure regulated by the Ministries of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Social Security.

The initiative is expected to benefit professional artisanal fishermen in 94 municipalities in the region mentioned in the provisional measure.
Crisis in Amazonas
The federal government has already allocated amount of R$ 627 million to deal with the water crisis in Amazonas, excluding benefits such as fishing insurance, fishermen's aid and other emergency aid.
The lack of prolonged rainfall has already put several communities in a delicate situation due to supply difficulties.
How will payment be made?
For fishermen who have a current or individual savings account with CAIXA, with a balance and transactions, the benefit will be deposited directly into the account.
This way, you can use the money you receive via your account card, by CAIXA application or CAIXA Internet Bankingon the computer. For this group, the account card was issued and sent.
For those who don't have a CAIXA account, a Digital Social Savings Account will be opened automatically and free of charge. This account can be used via CAIXA Tem.
In cases where the Emergency Fishermen's Aid cannot be deposited in an existing account or in the Digital Social Savings Account.
Fishermen will have the option of withdrawing the benefit with their Social Card and password at CAIXA ATMs, lottery shops, CAIXA Aqui correspondents or CAIXA branches.
If the fisherman does not have the Social Card, he can withdraw the benefit at any CAIXA branch by presenting an official identification document.
How to register?
To register for the fishermen's allowance, fishermen need to provide some important personal information. These are:
- Identification document with photo (can be ID, CTPS or other official document with photo);
- Photo ID for family members living in the same house, such as spouse, partner, children, grandchildren, etc;
- If you are registered with the Unified Registry (CadÚnico), you must provide information;
- You also need to show proof of an up-to-date address;
- Documents attesting to the practice of artisanal fishing as an exclusive profession, such as registration in the General Fishing Registry (RGP), Work and Social Security Card (CTPS),

- Finally, you must provide your phone number and WhatsApp number.
It is important to note that this benefit is offered in specific situations and not on a regular basis.
