What is SENAI?

SENAI is known for offering a variety of courses, from technical to postgraduate, and is recognized for preparing professionals who are in high demand by companies all over the country.

One of these education options is the Industrial Apprenticeship, aimed at students aged between 14 and 24 who are in high school or about to enter.

This course offers free training, especially aimed at those who want to start their journey in technical training.

The interesting thing about the Industrial Apprenticeship is that it prepares students to take part in the Young Apprentice Program of the SENAI

During the two-year course, students have the opportunity to apply for apprenticeships in companies.

Therefore, if you are interested in working as a Young Apprentice, it is essential to be enrolled in an Industrial Apprenticeship course.

Who can become a Young Apprentice?

Only students enrolled in SENAI's Industrial Apprenticeship course, aged between 14 and 24, and taking a course related to the vacancies offered by the desired company can apply.

If you have already finished high school, the opportunity to become an apprentice no longer applies to you.

What's more, if you're not enrolled in an Industrial Apprenticeship course, you won't be able to become a young apprentice either.

The essential condition for becoming a young apprentice is directly related to taking part in an Industrial Apprenticeship course.

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that if you are a Person with a Disability (PwD), you also have the possibility of becoming a young apprentice!

How to register?

You'll have to take a test and compete with a lot of people to get onto the course you want at the SENAI unit in your city.

The exam has 60 multiple-choice questions, including mathematics, Portuguese and elementary school natural sciences.

Registration for the selection process usually takes place in August, but this can vary depending on the state.

Referral jobs or jobs for everyone?

Students are often suggested by companies to enter the Industrial Apprenticeship selection process.

If you want to be part of the Young Apprentice program, you can contact a company's Human Resources department and find out how to apply. Each company has its own way of selecting, whether by referral or interview.

However, it is also possible to sign up as a student from the community, without needing a referral from a company.

It's important to remember that all students must pass Senai's selection process in order to study there and become an apprentice in the companies of their choice.

What is the salary of a young apprentice?

This varies from company to company and the amount of hours you work per week, but on average you can expect to earn around R$600 per month at least.

However, it is possible to receive a higher salary, depending on the salary policy and growth opportunities at your company.

Young apprentices are also entitled to a transport voucher, which helps with travel costs.

And if you happen to be dismissed without cause before the end of your contract, you may also qualify for unemployment insurance. In this case, all the normal unemployment insurance rules apply to young apprentices.

A young person starting out can work up to 6 hours a day if they haven't finished elementary school.

However, if you have already completed this stage, you can work up to 8 hours a day, taking into account the time you spend at SENAI and the time you work at the company.
